Went to “Donut Derelicts” cruise-in this morning (Huntington Beach, CA) and this beautiful ‘58 Impala was there. Does anyone know the owner? I’d like to get in touch, learn more, and perhaps make an offer...

Please feel free to pass along my user ID and/or email: jmg240@yahoo.com
    Thanks much!

You may be able to locate the owner using the license plate number.

Go to the California DMV. Tell them that you want to contact the owner of this car/license plate, pay a fee ($10 I think???) and they will forward your message to the owner. They will not give you the owners name or address. It is up to the owner as to whether or not they respond to you. Don't ask a police officer to "run the plate" to get the address. It is against the law and they could get in trouble.

@32Stoker you could hit the cruise again and perhaps meet the owner...many times cruises are frequented by the same group...

Thanks for the suggestion Lil32. I didn’t have paper and pen with me at the time. Besides, I don’t like touching/leaving things on people’s cars. I find it rude.

Also, I’m not planning to call the DMV or waste too much time/effort on this. Hoped he was a HAMBER so we could start a PM discussion and I could learn more about the car, what’s in the engine bay, history, etc. That simple.

    Thank you gents!

  10. I owned the twin to that, identical color and all.
I did not have the white interior in it at the time I sold it.
Mine was ultra nice except the body side molding on the drivers side fender had some ripples in it from an incident I had back in the middle sixties. Never could find a better replacement piece.
I had restored the Impala twice during my long ownership.
I ended up taking it to auction where it fetched $47,000.
I had almost $85,000 invested in it.
Now seeing this I wish I still owned it.

Sweet! Mine was sierra gold with white top. Looked a little darker (had original lacquer) but maybe just the photos. When I owned it in the '70s it was slightly cool (American Graffiti helped) but still far behind the Tri-Fives in value and coolness. Times have changed.
