My 48 Canadian Dodge (think Plymouth with an identity crisis.) I think it's chopped 3 1/2 inches, but am not certain.

It was already started when I got it, reasonable engineering, bad welding for some of it, I think a master was using it to teach a newbie... I'm still happy with it and hope to finish it in the summer!

My dad and I have the door tops on it now, and we fixed a lot of the welds and issues in the chop, still have to do the quarter windows because they are horrendous!

Does anyone know where I can find dropped 46-48 Plymouth spindles?

It's a large vehicle that carries passengers, the driver gets to wear a hat!

    :D

The bus is a very long story that can be read here http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2563951 basically it's the only survivour of 44 that were custom built by Western Truck and Auto for Brewster Transport in Banff Alberta for doing ice field tours and other adventures like that! (it went where those big monster truck looking buses go now)

I chopped a four door now i wont think twice about buying one they are perfect for a very low chop because the extra doors make it easy to get in and out

Cut 6" out of every post, cut 2" all the way around the rear windsheild, sld it up, and tucked it under the existing rear roof, cut the package tray and clamped it,welded it back up to keep it centered.[IMG]

Nice job... Im wondering how you make your window lower to fit? model A´s and similar are easy because the glass is flat, but it`s not flat on 50´s cars. Is it the original you cut down, or????

My old "64" T-Bird was chopped about 3 1/2 inches. Can't really tell unless it was parked beside a stock T-Bird.

I am chopping my 47 International KB 7" total. I cut 4" out of the doors and leaned the front post back to the door top. Pancaked the roof 3", chopped the windshield 2" and leaned it back about 4" at the top. Cut the center of the windshield and dropped it 5/8" then removed 2 1/2" above the windshield to complete the pancake. I will be taking 1 1/2" out of the rear window to match the side windows and installing it at the same height as the side windows.

When I leaned the windshield back I cut it loose at the cowl and let the corners drop then flowed the cowl and lower edge together. If I did it again I would have taken the 7" out of the back of the cab at the rear radius of the door top instead of just above the belt line. It would have been easier than having to add a 1/2' strip between the top and the rear door post on the vertical. This is my first chop and I figured that doing a slanted post and having an inner cab skin along with the pancake was the way to go. I figure the herder the better.

When I see 33-34 Fords chopped I like to see the roof stretch to keep that nice line on the front of the door. If the post is leaned back it needs to be done properly, that means that the whole windshield post all the way down needs to be cut from the cowl and leaned back otherwise you end up with a dogleg in the bottom of he post and the corners of the windshield sticking out and not sealing.

I will post pics of the International chop when I get a new USB cord to download them off my phone.

Mine in the 80's and today. I'll be bringing it back to the shop this fall. Think it's about a 4 to 5 inch chop and a 6 inch channel.
