  1. Howdy Fridayers!

These are acrylic on canvas, done on site Saturday. Suede cars like this Mercury are not easy to render when the temperature is in the high 90's, and your palette is on hot asphalt. The amorphous lines of a kustom Merc are less than easy too..

After going home for dinner, I returned in the night. I set up my easel in the carpark outside the club. 3 1/2 hours later, at 00:30, I had this 45 x 36" canvas. Folks were coming out of the club to check the progress. The Satellites & Los Straitjackets provided the soundtrack for this balmy evening & sounded superb. Thanks MoonDog & other cats for this cool annual event- the 'KUSTOM KULTURE WEEKENDER'.

Enlarged a Red Indian Gas Station invoice from 1943 and drew the old oil bottle on it life size.

    Great start !

As someone used to say, I had a dream!

I've dreamed James Hetfield (Metallica's singer) ask me to draw his latest album cover. Hurry up, I did it immediately... but of course it was just a dream!

Something I put together for the Autorama show using some photos and inspiration from the street freaks thread..
Oddly enough it turned out to be super contriversal. depending on who looked at it, it had one too many chevys, two too many fords, or not enough mopars. lol. i'm gonna have to do another, and just focus on flat front pickups.... the econo, an a-100, and a little chevy (maybe a caorvair..)

  15. So, Detroit Autorama was awesome and a great turn out.
For the past few years, I have spent a lot of time in the basement as a part of the Singlefinger Speed Shop Crew.

This year was the same. While I was striping - it was to the background noise of Gene Windfield Chopping a top on a 1938 Chevy. Larry - our fearless leader - had George from Dogpatch Customs do up an award for Gene. They brought it to me with the silver and red base painted and the tan on the Axe Handle. I did the rest at the show. Quite a privilege to give this to what may be one of the greatest Custom Body guys in the world. He loved it.

    What a blast!

In the interest of Full Disclosure, it needs to be stated that the wording on that "Major Award" came from Hotroded's Long Island wisdom.

DogpatchCustom's "Winfield Fade" was pretty cool & DustyOldBodyman did a fine job slinging 1-shot.

Thanks guys, the look on Gene's face told it all.

I had the chance to photograph a truck that is owned by one of the nicest guys I have met. He claims to be in his 40's, but after a 2hr conversation before taking photos one would think he was an 80 year old man. No computer, email..he lives simply.

    This is Logan's '56 Ford.
