Here are some shots of the 41 Cad Westergard car I have been working on for a while for Kurt McCormick. I think it turned out pretty nice. The color looks almost candy in the sun. The interior is nice, it was done by Dave Martinez from Indy, he does real nice tradtional stuff. The engine has some real cool stuff on it that Kurt found, notice the engine reflection in the firewall! The headliner is killer I think, its a combo of Pontiac Safari trim and a bunch of trim I made out of solid brass then chromed. We also had the column and dash all chromed. Top was done by Upholstry by Jamie of Yakima, its killer also.
I fell this will make a very nice addtion to Kurts already top notch collection of Kustoms!
Kurt and Amy are truely one of the great people in the kustom world, it there was more people like them in the world the world would be a better place to live...period.
email me if you want any more pics, I am not real good at putting pics on here.

    hey,

Looks killer. Any idea when, in Harry Westergard's life,
    that he built this Caddie?

    Thanks guys!

No we took it last year unfinished, this year we took a 63 Ford Falcon, its modern, so I won't post it on here, but someone did post a pic of it in the SEMA coverage. Its is the one with the satin charcoal roff and the yellow/gold pearl on the sides. We did some kinda cool stuff on it, rolled out all sheetmetal interior, even headliner and bolted it all in using bungs(I like to say bungs...) same with all the body mounts and bumper mounts, I did a way crazy full round tube twin rail chassis with a quick change also.

The story I got from Kurt on this was, it was built by Westergard in 48, its a 41 with a 47 front and 48 rear quarters, so getting those back then when they were new was probably an adventure. The car was comissioned by an Indian Motorcycle dealer at the time, and was supposedly a running car with topand all done(an originaly Hall top) but the car was left in primer, it was never painted. But Kurt thought it deserved to be painted(I agree) and picked a color as it woul have been done back then, the interior was almost the same colors, a maroon and off white, and we had it done like it was. I guess Kurt has even tracked down a guy that actually worked on the car while he was wroking for Westergard at the time, how he finds this stuff and tracks down people is amasing!!

  22. Damn! the lines on that body gave me goosebumps! Hats off to all the builders on the project. Very sexy.

Does anyone else see an incredible resemblence between this car and Kustom7777's Caddy? If I didn't know better, they could be clones.

Dave Martinez did an awesome job on the interior, Jamie Rice did the top and the headliner, I did the chrome trim making.

That is one of the best kustoms to come out in recent years! No question
    about it!!!

Yeah, there are several similarities between this one and Kustom7777's, but
also a lot of differences. I have a question about the steering column and the
steering wheel. Is it a 1947 column or a modified 1941? What did that
steering wheel come out of? Is it custom made?
Also, did the car come with a 331 engine or did Kurt change that?

One personal opinion... Why ain't the headlights molded??? :D

  28. That is one Classy Caddy for sure.

    Very nice job.
