The Jalopy Journal
Today at the NHRA reunion [IMG]
I was kind of disappointed with all the class car racing. Just modern stuff that looks slightly nostalgic. There was some cool stuff there, but...
My Dad took this photo in the early 70s. He thinks at Tulsa Street Rod Nationals. Later his good friend acquired the car, here in Clarksville Tn....
A must see if you like nose art. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=d1a_1389763193
I hope there are some stories on the internet about how some of these cars turn out after some TLC in the future. I find the whole thing very...
The Merc has blue dots. Like someone else said, it would be a shame not to restore that Chevelle. Word was the buyer was going to part it out....
Here's one of the cars starting up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-mVtAkkxbp8
The day 2 auction prices weren't that bad. Appears the feeding frenzy was on day 1.
Looks like o****e had a pocket full of cash.
A HAMB members car was in an episode of The Walking Dead. [img]
I'm not a Chevy guy, but I'd sure like to have this wagon. [img] Like others, I'm sure most of these cars will go for way more than they are...
I ran across this thread the other day and it reminded me to check Youtube. The full movie is on there. Watched it last night. One of my favorite...
I thought of that thread as soon as I read the post. Good article.
The actors appear to be cast pretty well to me. I hope it makes it to Bowling Green.
This one does it for me. [img]
For an amateur builder a Hobart unit should be fine. I've had the HF flux unit and liked it...it's just not good for automotive fab work. You can...
We switched to this in the shop and have good luck with it. Ozzy Juice http://www.chemfree.com/compare/ozzyjuice-compare.html
To keep it simple, here's the way I store my info. Pretty well all as far as Thunderbolts and related Fairlanes go. 62-63...
This is a car I'm not sure on. A member told me it was a privately built car built mid 60s and ran a SOHC 427 and was not a Thunderbolt. But then...
I'm still learning too with a Hobart Handler 140 unit. All I can say from my experience so far is keep the power low but don't be afraid to crank...
Must be the same co as the ones who make those goofy fastback hardtops for vintage Mustang convertibles.
I've wanted to restore an old camper but most of them I find around here have to roofs coated in black roofing sealer. Looks like getting the roof...
As far as I know, the Phil Bonner 64 Fairlane HT with a 427 was the only stray. It wasn't built by DST and I wouldn't consider it as a Thunderbolt.
Show me 1 Thunderbolt built after the Drew Ford car (the last one) and I'll believe it.
There are hundreds of threads here where people build cars (let's say a traditional style post war car or gassers) to immulate the way they were....
I'm sure there are some rough cars but I'd bet there are a bunch of gems there too. I'd love to have that green station wagon.
HM used hardtops.
This is probably the car mentioned. Piloted by Fireball Roberts finishing 2nd in the 64 Daytona Continental Sports car race. [img]
I also have a Woodward roller and the main body is thicker and shafts are larger than the HF one. But it still could use some bracing. Mine flexes...
Looks cool. The paint job's patina fits the car. I've seen your other work and I'd consider it art.
