    Old and the new. They fit perfectly in the dash. The bezel protruded exactly the same as it did on the original, plus all the mounts fit perfectly. No original gauges were harmed in the making of these buckets!

    Test fit with the new Classic Instruments speedometer. I like these because they are USA made, and they are about 5" OD on the gauge bezel. The '54 trim rings are 5" on the ID.

    First, put a 90 deg. bend in a piece of 20 gauge sheet metal. Trim all but 1/8" to form the bezel mounting flange. Run the strip through a slip roll to make the ring shown here. About 6" diameter is perfect for the '54.

    Cut out a disk using a circle maker with a plasma cutter to jut fit the inner ring. This will be the gauge mounting surface.
