The Jalopy Journal
I'm a 99.99999%'r. I did EVERYTHING on my truck, ground up, top to bottom myself.......everything except the exhaust system (I don't own a bending...
Mine (original) mounted to the top of the frame, with some welting between the frame and tank.
OK, after my son's girlfriend backed her Honda into my truck's rear fender tonight, add another $400 or so. ARGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats! Very cool. I dig the Vette tail lights. Not a fan of those wacky canted front headlights though. They were definitely smoking some weird...
I paid $50 to my dad for the truck......back in 1978. :D The recent resto-mod soaked me for about $7,800 in out-of pocket cashola. I probably have...
I would think the DEP would WANT that thing removed. Why would they want a rotting metal car, with all sorts of nastiness in it, near a public...
If you want it, go take it... if anyone questions you, tell em it's yours, you just forgot where it was parked for the last 50 years.
Sooooooooooo, what's it worth? Wasn't that the question? LOL.
Why do you guys think there are "barn finds" and "garage finds", etc. out there still? Because the owners of those coveted cars "didn't want to...
The wiper motor in my 55.5 Chevy truck (basically the same truck as yours) is electric, and appears to be an OEM part. Have you tried the usual...
I might pay $60,000 for the BARN, if it's in excellent condition and in a nice area. But $60,000 for a clapped out 32 Ford?? INSANITY!!!!!
Pressure treated bed wood = not traditional. :p
Still haven't seen an explanation of what this "line" is! :) How can we tell him how to cure the line, if we don't even know why it appears?...
Rebuilt my passenger side window and vent window, all new weather seals and felt, installed the freshened up window regulator, freshly painted...
I'm still trying to figure out what generated the "ghost line". LoL. Is the consensus that the underlying metal or filler has cracked/opened up...
Take out the buckets and put in a shallow bench seat, and you might have a shot at comfort.
Not to be too obvious, but why not go sit in it and try it on?! :)
Is the line a crack?
Is it possible to post a pic of the ghost line? I'm not sure I get what you mean by that.
Not sure what the fuss is all about. I've never had a problem buying or selling on ebay, and I've bought and sold a ton of stuff, mostly vintage...
Not to be a jerk, but if you are having trouble coming up with $500 to buy the carcass, how do you plan to come up with the scratch to build and...
Very nice!
Gloss black with chrome caps. Your interior is white/black? Any other color than chrome, white or black on the wheels will make it too 'busy', imo.
"Z" the frame, but that introduces a whole host of other issues that you'll need to deal with. Or spend a few hundred and get a dropped axle.
My order: 1) chassis 2) bodywork and paint 3) drivetrain 4) wiring 5) everything else 6) drive it
Did the experiment work? I'm searching for the 'after' pix, but I don't see them. What's up, ratroddude?
Yep, them suckers are upside down. I'd flip em so the shackles can extend freely without bottoming out against them. Check it out..... [IMG]...
Rebuilding the passenger side window and vent glass on the truck.....all new weatherstripping. That'll complete it, just in time for the nasty...
'31 Pontiac 5-window coupe. Factory original.
The proportions of the stock shell look better, imo.
