[ATTACH] I’m going with this Calnevar aftermarket sombrero. SO deep compared to the normal sombreros surrounding it. And that super-thick emblem too.
I'll get around to it....

[ATTACH] I changed out the shifter knob and steering centre cap since, but here’s mine on my ‘41
They don't look like Cadillac sombreros to me. They're more like a shallower '53 stude cap with a Cadillac emblem.
Without seeing them in real life, is there anything outside of the box that might be worth a try? Could you attach a cap using the machine screws...
On a '36 custom, I'm all for vertical grilles. If the idea was to mask, update, or upgrade the look of a 'mundane' Ford, then changing the most...
I just had a look and it's the Plymouth brackets.
I went with the 710s in the end. There's a tiny bit of rubbing on the front on full lock, but not enough to worry about.
Since '41s are allowed, here's today's pic of mine with another different set of caps. [ATTACH]
Looks like it's in some good hands
Just popping on a couple hubcaps would take it up yet another level..
I had a GM clipped F1 with a 327 and the ram horns. Fitted easily, looked good, and performed well too.
I'll look out for it (and you). Just curious - what are your plans for the bow tie space in that '57 grille..?
I've seen that advertised on and off for a while. Will it be staying in the Vancouver area? It's a good looking shoe for sure. A dark red would...
The Ohanesian [IMG]
I'll go with the Ohanesian '40 Mercury convertible sedan.
It's nice to hear a problem, some suggestions, and then the OPreporring back on the solution with thanks. So many of these help requests never get...
I read every thread and every comment on bias tires and was still no wiser. For everyone saying they're good, someone else says they're bad....
My daily has a capless filler neck. It's spring-loaded and is a positive seal, but I wouldn't trust it if gas was right up against it. Sounds as...
[ATTACH] I used the repop '37 Chevy lights on the tops of the fenders on my old F1.
I'm both - tank and filler in the trunk, gas door and unconnected filler neck in the fender. I didn't do it, but I like the door anyway so I'm...
If you're still working on aligning your hood, I'll share a story... My '41 hood stood a good 1.5 inches proud of the cowl on the passenger side....
Thanks for the info and the background. And congratulations on the car so far!
Going back up the thread to the garnish moldings.. What is that chrome trim on the outside of the rear side window? I think I can see it in old...
I just picked up one of the louvered Lyon caps. If you still want one, let me know
If it's my '41 you're asking about... The front is GM clipped with 2"shorter springs, and the rear has de-arched leafs with 2" blocks, and it's on...
Ok.[ATTACH] [ATTACH]
I go for the third version too.
It's really really beautiful. That angle proves that the earlier discussion on the headlights was a photographic illusion - relationship to the...
