My 31 sedan with a 350/700r4 with HEI fits with no problem. Much easier to trim the firewall for clearance then moving the body around. Just an idea.

If the read end has been sand blasted they may be gone otherwise the numbers are there. You may need to sand the tube to see them. All housing...
Look on the left axle tube on top and get the number stamped into the tube. That will let you look up what you have. Assembly plant, date, ratio...
