The Jalopy Journal
I've started reading my junk mail while on the crapper. Just as productive, and considerably cheaper.
Any pics of that sander bolted to the side? I've been thinking about a way to vibrate the hopper for a while now. Your idea sounds cheap and...
I too, have WV wheels on two vehicles, both sets are fine. Maybe I just got lucky, but I would not hesitate to use them again. Is it possible it...
Yesterday morning, I called the local parts store for a rear axle shaft for my OT pickup. The "partsman" said we don't have them, and our catalog...
Thats something anyone would be proud to drive! Nice job.
Oh boy, now I'll have to find an old microwave so it can sit under my bench until I get around to making a welder! Pretty cool.
This has to be one of the coolest finds posted on the HAMB in a long time! Certainly a step back in history.
Unfortunately this stuff is becoming way too common. Thanks for the warning, I'm sure it will help others.
Miller or Hobart. I would bet you could also get one cheaper than eastwood. Nothing against TIG, but I have not found anything I can't weld with...
If you really hate your fenders PM me. I'd be interested in them.
Very cool! Sounds like your smart enough not to "hot rod" it. Some things you just don't mess with. I've never seen one before.
Definately has some cool lines to it. Good luck on your new project!
While they do have some cool hard to find stuff, it appears their sheetmetal forming tools are the same as HF, just more $$.
Go for it! Make him an offer, sounds like you have the passion and there's only one way to learn. Good luck on your project.
I would try to locate some doors before I decided. $2000 is allot if it turns out to be yard art.
Looks very nice, you did a good job welding and grinding too.
I tried some off brand stuff and it bird nested, also was getting rusty right out of the wrapper. Since then I have been using Hobart wire and...
April issue??.. You must be from the future, it's still January here!
A shot from below and up top. Hope this helps. These are 1937, but 36 should be similar.
Now that's a christmas song that I can listen to! Catchy tune.
The second pic shows the notch for the frame horns...kind of hard to see, but best I could find.
They look like big truck fenders. Look at the front of them. A 1/2 ton fender will have notches in it to clear the frame horns. A big fender will not.
BGBDLINC, I like what you did with your windshield. I had been pondering this same thing for a while. Thanks for the pics.
Mine is from Summit, but I suspect it is the same junk as HF, just a different color.
I picked up a pair of 86' f150 rear drums to replace the f1 front drums. Although my hubs aren't on my spindles yet, it seems they will work. The...
Is it really that distorted that it won't fit? It dosen't that far out of shape.
Wow Matt, She's a beauty. I'd shine that up and put it in my living room.
The guy I drove dump truck for in the 70's had 6-71s and the 8v-71. The 318 had the power steering driven direct off the blower. Not fun trying...
I think the silver series was a v6. The 238 6-71 was inline. You gotta "keep um on the pipe" like riding a dirtbike. If the rpm's are lugged down...
Dosen't a holley 350 bolt right up to a stock intake? Anybody know if any ford dipstick tube will fit a 2.3? Mine is broken off at the block and...
