The Jalopy Journal
Wow! I love this guy. He's got such a brilliant take on hot rods and customs. I binged all of his stuff about a year ago when somebody else...
I've been looking everywhere, but I can't find anybody who has actually installed a rear 4 link on a 1955-57 Thunderbird. Has anybody installed...
One more thing: if I had the money, I'd buy that GT and restore it to the way Dean had it. Can't improve on perfection...
Ryan, are you renting space in my head? Everything you wrote about Dean Jeffries I completely agree about. He's my favorite car customizer...
Perfection.
I wish you the best. I'm happy you're still with us. :)
I love this movie. I bought my first old car after seeing the 55 Chevy in this film. Wasn't 50 years ago, but it was about 25. Caught the bug...
What did my dad drive? A hard bargain. :D
We had several "general" stores here where I live at one point. The general stores were the best in my opinion. When I was disassembling a 55...
How did I miss this!? Looks good on you, buddy. :D
How to make a LS look traditional...
The irony isn't lost on me. I thought the same thing. The only explanation I have is that this car was once a race car. Chicken wire and duct...
I found something that's real close. Dorman 610-120. Can't buy just one, so I had to order a box of 10. Hope it works. Otherwise, I've got...
I love the idea of a screw in stud. I wish I had a good machinist locally. I'd drop it off, tell him to weld it up, and tap it for a screw in stud.
Beat you to it. I checked it out before I started this thread. I found something close, but the shoulder is way too big.
Dorman 610-109.1: 1/2" wheel stud, 0.625" Knurl, 1 5/8" length, 3/4" Shoulder
Spins freely now. Depresses me to even say that...
I finally got around to installing new wheel studs on an old hub this evening. Got four installed. The fifth one spins in the hole. Does anyone...
That's one of the greatest things I've ever heard. You're my hero. :)
That's what I was thinking. At least with the spokes, the heat from the drum wouldn't be trapped behind it like on a regular "disc" wheel.
Those are so cool. They even make them for my car: [ATTACH]
I've been studying vintage sports cars for a while (mainly from the 1950s), and I've noticed that a great deal of sports cars on into the 1970s...
It's guys like you who make me love hot rods. Good job, my friend.
Never saw it before today. Shot up to one of my favorites. Who knew Fabian could act?
How did we miss this one? Here you go. Thunder Alley with Fabian. Enjoy! [MEDIA]
You've got my vote. What are we voting on? :D
That was such a great show. The episode where they took off Scoot McNairy's character still gives me chills. I've never seen anything like it...
I really dig that shifter boot.
Johnny Beauchamp and Tiny Lund were both NASCAR drivers in the early days. Johnny Beauchamp won the first Daytona 500 and almost won again...
