The Jalopy Journal
I would imagine that any rubber friendly lubricant would work. Possibly a rubber grease would be ideal. I think Gibbs Brand is also rubber...
So did you replace the solenoid as recommended, - or like me did you just carry on to fight the same problem another day………? ( ps, I actually...
comparisons here possibly……. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/model-a-coupe-showing-different-chops.869524/
@26 T Ford RPU thanks for confirming that as well. the hole I originally asked about is also not imperial, but smaller. ( I hope that you are...
^^^^^ thanks for that, I was unsure if they made a 9mm bolt/ thread, as we tend to use 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12mm etc for a while I thought that maybe...
Absolutely beautiful Mr Billy Bandit, - probably the best use of an old oil bath oil filter that I’ve ever seen……..
^^^^ yes, those are the ones. Thanks.
thanks for confirming this. At the moment I have run it around the other side and will just use a non traditional rubber clamp. I still don’t...
tried that also ! ( I tried a lot before I asked here). It measured and looks like 7mm x 1.25, but I don’t think there is such a thing. I assume...
Thank you gentlemen for all of your replies. as mentioned, I will probably just re tap, or if it is actually 5/16 UNC thread, just clean it up……..
It is chamfered, and I still can’t start it. I will just re tap it.
thanks, I did download the PDF sheet before I posted this thread, and like you, I couldn’t find any information about it.
maybe, and that is what I thought it was, just measures smaller. At the moment the distributor is in the way, so that is the plan, to re tap a...
Thanks, - we have NPT here, ( and not a tapered thread) and I didn’t try that, but I think that the thread is too coarse for npt. Can’t get a...
yes, correct, that is the manifold, I downloaded a photo and then got distracted and forgot to post it. not open to any passages, just a boss...
Does anyone out there know what the thread / bolt size is for the threaded bosses on the above manifold which is a modern version that is still...
we seem to be getting an early autumn down here, so I guess that it will all work out okay……..
? I must be missing something here as I don’t understand your post ?
Split wishbones should eliminate that problem……..:)
photos may help at this time ………
Here are a couple of reproduction ones. vintique [ATTACH] note no brackets at all on this one as some come like that [ATTACH]
Not likely to be reproduction, looks homemade, different bracket to bolt to top of chassis, curve’s don’t look the same as original, angle of...
that is a fabricated tank, not a ‘32 tank. I had fitment issues on one car and considered mounting the tank under the top off the frame rails even...
Maybe look at the backspacing of different rims to achieve what you want…….
Thanks for clarifying that, - I thought it was a kid filling the gas tank with a garden hose……….
what colour did you decide on ?
I don’t think that the female / receiver part should sit proud as it appears in the second photo. I would think that it should be flush or...
Gloss Black is the only colour I would go with ! Dovetail grey I believe was the original colour, but not my preference unless a vintage car....
this may not be cheap enough for you, but the cheapest that I have seen recently………....
I usually agree, and many times been frustrated by the extra opinions, although as I read this thread 2&1/2 years later I am finding more...
