To remain thrifty, I'd look for the compression you want in the heads over shaving the block and heads. Smaller chambers and a shim head gasket....

Loyds, At least you caught the mistake. Someone somewhere would have "Made" those parts work in the engine and had a huge failure upon start up. :eek:
I have not used citric acid, but have with good results used vinegar. A big tote or Rubbermaid container works well. Just don't be in a hurry.
