Looks just like the one I installed in my '52 F-1 with an adapter from Flathead Jack. Works like new. Love the 4 gears behind the flattie! :)

I had to mill down about 3/16's on my adapters to get enough insertion depth into the disc. Just a thought. :)
If the pressure plate is releasing, then you have a bind between the disc and the flywheel. Sounds like the disc is not aligned with the input...
Speedway sells dropped tie-rod ends for about $65 or so. I bought them for my 52 F-1 to help clear the pan. Works great! About a 2" drop.
Flathead Jack has it for $225. Speedway has it for $275. Take your pick.

Maybe the fuel pump flange is slightly higher than the stock manifold giving you too much clearance for the fuel pump rod. Jus' thinkin'.
