If it were mine, I'd pull the heads and check EVERYTHING, including the valve job. If it needs a valve job, be prepared for it to burn some oil...
Just measured mine. It's 46 1/2" in the middle (widest point) and 45 3/4" at the bottom, just above the rear curve. Hope this helps.
