Picture clearly shows it was broken when the deal was made.
Any used block before tear down and thorough inspection is a crap shoot....
Be aware the fulcrum screw in the accelerator arm is left hand thread. Righty Lucy lefty tighty

they (including the dual 4bbl version) dwarf the engines they came on.

Sand with DA, 180, 220, 500, 1000 grit
red Wenol polish
Install with 3/16 stainless carriage...

My intake has dimples in the floor of the base, similar to the Chevrolet and a shorter forward...
I was unaware there were two versions of the round J2 air cleaners, late '57 and '58.

used a 3" hole saw to cut a groove for the 3" tube to fit in,
Drill again with 3-1/4" hole saw
turning the groove into a...
block offs for collectors made of 1/2" aluminum plate,
cut with hole saw on drill press.
made some wing nuts similar to Cal Custom valve cover...
