I'm thinkin' of a flat V-8 w/ a Corvair...
I LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!! and I'm a little envious.
ALL V-8's had the same firing order (until FORD Cleveland & late Windsors).
The sound was/is affected by the multitude of exhaust system...
I just Googled "automotive bulkhead grommets" (it's a bulkhead, NOT a firewall), and got hundreds of picture ideas, even some I'd never seen...
It probly didn't FLY because it was HEAVY !!
About 4 yrs ago I rebuilt my tired 360 FE in my old '71 F100. I had it bored .060 & put in a new cam & kit. I used a Mellings RV grind. Don't...
Looks like A German (Ford of Germany) Taunus engine (pre-war).

I've had my '40 Merc since '58 (before I finished H.S.)
This pic on a road trip somewhere in New Mexico 1959.
Years ago in Colorado I got stopped by a CHP because my 40Merc was lowered in front. He had decided that was very dangerous, because with the...

As a side note, plastic insulated wiring was introduced about the same time...
I remember ALL the GM 6V cars as being NEGATIVE ground.
FORD & CHRYSLER 6V cars had the POSITIVE ground.
the ground polarity was usually stamped...
