The Jalopy Journal
Here's one I did a few years ago.
Here's one I did back in 2017. Took a Ford roof and transplanted it to a Plymouth.
Easy enough in pixels, much harder in real life!
This car made it to a Sled Scene East show in the 90s.
I remember talking to the owner and thanking him for bringing it. It had just appeared in R&C.
Some more ideas for the F100. GMC[ATTACH] [ATTACH] and Chrysler grilles.
Damn, Moose. You're faster than me! [ATTACH]
If you decide against the two grilles you mentioned, here is another idea for you:
1954 Buick grille in the '53. Will have Buick devotees...
OK, I'll try. Inspired by the Mercury Caravan of Stars[ATTACH] show car.
Here you go.
That Ford Zephyr (Zodiac?) needs some love, too!
[ATTACH] My favorite: the 1959 Imperial grille.
I wanted one of these for my '58 Belair. I searched for 4 years (pre-Internet days) without...
I left the headlights and hood alone, as requested, but I would rework those if it were mine. Simple shave and remove the grille center bars. Best...
This time it's personal! My old '58 Belair in a composite pic. The car is just as it was in an old photo from Sled Scene East (Gettysburg).
I don't know what's harder, customizing a really tiny car or a really huge one!
[ATTACH] 1948 Chevrolet Touring Sedan.
Funny thing - I started on a hot rod version, but switched to a home made woodie I remembered seeing when I was young. Jeez.
Late to the party,again...
This car was owned by Fred Monroe Zeder II. His father, Fred Monroe Zeder, was a long time engineer at Chrysler. Fred II was a fighter pilot in...
Not exactly over do it, but lessen the effect. That streak just in front is ever-so-slightly jarring, which is why it works.
Here's how I would do it. Pick a bold shade and use it sparingly. A splash of color on satin black goes a long way.
OK. I heavied up the fog lines with a darker shade of blue and added some work on the fenders and hood.
Any darker on the blue and it will be...
How about this?
Damn, Madfish - that's wicked!
What is this? If it wasn't attached to a car, I'd buy it and hang it on my wall!
Since you mentioned a caramel interior I grabbed themoose's version and went as "caramel" as I could get.
Might be too "orangey" for you.
Here's a similar Imperial I did awhile back. Taillights in the trim.
Here are three: Mandarin Red, Mandarin Red and Dark Grey, and Sapphire.

Here's my version:
Thanks, Mark. You're too kind!
