you need to check the rod to piston clearance when its in the bore and mounted on the crank should be .050-.300 on the crank end the side...
a 16th is .125 or 125thousands clearance

i believe the ground is internal or on ring basically and just 1 wire goes to the sender from gauge
i believe it takes a 0-90 ohm sender like 99 % sure hth
