Wrapped the coil in reflective heat tape and moved it off the head. Has to be much cooler!

Pertronix ignition is fantastic. Installed in brand new distributor - super smooth idle and easy starting.
New fuel pump and lines. Heat shield fuel line wrap with freon line rubber insulation over that. Heat shield wrap pump to carb. A couple gallons...

100 octane fuel helped cure vapor lock. Insulation of fuel lines..... completely! Heat wrap exhaust below fuel line.
New mechanical fuel pump w/o vacuum to wipers. Heat shield wrap plus freon line rubber insulation from tank to pump, pump to carb.
Cured Vapor Lock!!!!
All gauges are now working!
If I'd known gas would be $4-$5 a gallon.....I would have asked for more $ before jumping out.:(
