Just finished the 318 swap in my 54, and bagged the front. Bags in the rear next, and front disc upgrade, with dropped uprights too.
RIP Leland. What a truly amazing story!
It will be a shame to see it go. Hopefully it finds a home with someone who loves it as much as Leland
Awesome thread! Here's my Aussie Built 54 Belvedere. Just finishing up a 318 swap.
I've always been a little concerned about the spray adhesive/hairspray trick too.
I normally just pull the lace firm and tape it down. Another...
Yeah I'm not sure about the legalities any more, but it's better than rolling 45mm off the deck, static.
From my experience, you've gotta be...
I was going to suggest the Eliminators show. Should be good.
Not sure if I'll have my car there though.
I have cut coils, 2" blocks in the rear with 3 leaves removed, and smaller tyres.
I must say, it handles much better just from doing this. Once...
My lady, and my 54 Belvedere
And the finished product. Visor re-assembled, and installed.
Stoked with the outcome. Even moreso as it was my first attempt at anything like...

My girlfriend talked me into adding more flake over the Turquoise Candy, so I added some...
RH rear panel got some Fish Scales in it. I whipped up a template using some stencil plastic I found at Spotlight when I got the lace.

Yeah, I doubt you could pull it off on such a small area with a rattle can. An airbrush would be your only option in my eyes
This is badass! I'd much rather see a vehicles original paint preserved, than stripped back and re-sprayed.
The only way an airbag would 'pop' is if it was rubbing on something, or due to age
I work for an airbag manufacturer and we offer a 5 year...
Lookin good dude!! You make it look easy!

They certainly put in a lot of work! These days you only have to scratch your bumper and crack the headlight to be considered a write-off!!
Amazing story! And damn that looks good considering how long it sat! Good to see you're not changing anything cosmetically.
My son is usually too busy working on his own ride, to help me out....
