Over the years I’ve had several 409s, IF i still had one the ole 57 would have one between the fenders.
As far as stock tri five rear ends go my experience says the posi is a lot stronger than an open. The ole 57 vette had a blown stroker motor years...
these guys have parts to upgrade the stock chevy rear.
EDIT: it seems they only have bearing saddles now, but...
