The Jalopy Journal
I still use 3M perfect it 2 but with a foam cutting pad. I stopped using wool many years ago. I also use Meguiars final inspection while buffing...
I agree 100%! To add to that, I couldn't tell you how many times I've stopped to help a broken down car. Blows me away how many people will wait...
A new AFC paint booth and rotary compressor. Then I could make more dough and buy more old cars.
Shoot 3 coats of clear, knock it flat with 600-800 then shoot 3 more. Color sand and buff. Looks like glass before you even sand and polish it,...
I stop at 2000, sometimes 2500. I have tried 3000 on a DA wet and I will say, it buffs like butter. I can't say it looks any more shiny though....
Haven't but barely touched this in the 4 years I've had it. Accumulating all of the parts I need to build it how I want to. Figure it will be my...
Cool project. Invest in a DA sander if you haven't already. You'd have your car to bare metal in a weekend or less. Those little electric...
Sorry for your loss. Your story sounds just like mine with my dad. I lost him over 10 years ago and I inherited his love of cars. It was our...
Well, I'd go with what Moriarity suggested. A friend of mine has a 53 that I occasionally tinker on for her. Someone swapped a 273 and auto in it....
Spring or fall of 59? Will make a big difference.......
I have a 49 and recently went and looked at a 50 that is for sale. So yeah, I think they are cool. Parts are available and they are ultra simple...
I love customs but man, some of these cars are so out of proportion. That purple shoebox above just looks way wrong. I appreciate all of the work...
Adjusting quality for the price of a job is something I won't do. I hope nobody else will either. Not just for auto body but for anything. I...
In California? No, I drive mine year round although it's a truck with a roof. I do ride my motorcyle year round though. I have some good winter...
I've been painting cars and motorcycles since 1994. I must admit, I have never looked at my gauge to see what the psi was, ever. I put cheaters on...
You'll run out of air with a 20 gallon tank. I've painted cars with 60 gallon tanks, never had a problem. If you are painting the car in pieces,...
Matte clear powdercoat after blasting.
Yes, installed with no issues. Also, I am not sure about the other kits but I was able to use my stock wheels as well.
Rusty hope is the way to go for mopar disc swaps.
I'm not rich by any means but I would happily pay more for American made products. That being said, I hit as many swap meets as I can to find...
I've painted plenty of engines with automotive base/clear, candies and pearls. Never had an issue, doesn't need to be high heat. Prep is key.
