The Jalopy Journal
I think this belongs to and was built by a well known Hamber.
I hope he doesn’t mind me posting it. Best flathead I’ve...
I wouldn’t recommend that, and I am don’t think that wouldn’t be legal over here.
Why not build a one off to suit ?
I would be interested to hear...
Narrow your diff ?
Heating it and bending it will (usually) also shorten it, - just something to be aware of.
Will that put it up above the scrub line.?
Loved the chrome wheels, and perfect choice of rim widths.
When the 15” rims became harder to find down here, people began using 16”.
I would recommend your rims on the back with narrower 1940 - 16” x 4”...
I would be hesitant to take out any from the rear.
More pictures on your own thread may be a good idea.
Roof looks a little flat from the front also.
Looks like the middle pillars are too high.
Or the rear part needs a bit of filler (height wise) to give a mean rake to the chop.
Thanks for the replies to my question.
To OP, apologies if this distracted the original topic of your thread.
Thanks for posting.
A question on the ‘34 3 window regarding the ‘bid box’, is that a common way of selling a car at a swap meet over there ?...
Actually, all model A’s on ‘32 chassis should be channeled an inch to make them look right.
Remember seeing a ‘32 chopped, or photo chopped...
Right decision, looks great !
Thanks for explaining that, all this time I had just thought that you were a Hamber from Germany..........
Nice cars !
Wouldn’t mind a ride in any of them, - except the 6th to last one..............
Thanks for posting.
Thanks, really appreciate your time in posting photos !
Pleased that you decided to post this thread, and by the comments so far, I am sure that everyone else is pleased that you shared this build.
^^^^^^ This !
You may want to explain what type of car you are working on.
I’m guessing that it’s the one in your avatar, and that the motor is an 8ba ford.
I thought that the tip from the Model A guys would be too fully weld it on..............
Beautiful car !
(and I also like your avatar)
No pictures, - you know what they say.............
king pin bushing reaming
I’ve always just wrapped a piece of emery paper around a drill bit (in a drill) and done it that way.
Never did have...
Everyone on here is so helpful !
Seems OP is only trying to flip them, doesn’t want to be stuck with them.
Car in question has been sold to another local rodder about 3 years ago.
I met him and saw the car this weekend.
Looks like it is staying as a...
I hope that the OP doesn’t take that as an insult on his photography.
Great photos, thanks for taking the time to post them.
van pelts website has good diagrams of steering boxes ‘33-‘36 , similar to 1932.
The one I used (as shown) was with the steering box and column and wheel still in the car.
No problem whatsoever.
Talking to the owner of one yesterday, he says the chassis was different from the ‘40 as it was set up to take any one of 3 options; 4 cyl, 6...
