I've seen it done to a early 60s mopar wagon but it was made into a two door hardtop wagon from a 4 door post type, very cool.
The above is true but there are more clean 4 doors being built. For me personally it's nice just not to work on a junk and build a cool more door.

Hello JW I see you've made it....this is a great place if you own an older car.
Ford had them on 3/4 and 1 ton pickups in the 80s.
It looked like a half assed trim ring that you put on first then a 15" wheel cover snapped into it.

How good are your motor mounts?
Unless your paint is uncatalyzed enamel everything above will work just fine.
