Hey its been awhile since I took an art appreciation class (about 35 or so years to be exact) but I was under the impression that it was only art if it was original.

Ah hell I'm probably wrong.

Oh and by the way...I should have said here is some art.....because yes obviously some of the pieces are characters from other artists....ex: Ed Roth, Von Dutch, and COOP. But to be a master yourself you must copy other masters work until you create your own style....at least thats what I was told......but for instance the "KUSTOM WAY OF LIFE" poster was all original....but there still is some McPhail influence....

 

Damn, all this talk of "Sucks" and "gay" make me feel weird wearing one of his shirts right now.

A couple of years ago, McPhail was up for the KKOA Hall of Fame in Lancaster Ohio. When Jerry announced his name as one of the nominees, a bunch of the guy were yelling "McPhail Sucks!!" After the awards, Titus and others came up to me and was shocked how many of the younger guys didn't like McPhail. Once I explained the story, some of them still didn't get it.

I'm proud to say I'm a button owner.

Damn! That is nice stuff. I really was starting to believe this couldn't be one man's work. Very talented. You'll fit in real well here. Thanks for sharing. You don't suck either.

 

McPhail is one of the guys that I would get a tattoo from other than Avalon in SD. And the wife wants to get another and I mentioned that she really should have Dennis do her cover-up. I think that I will be making a roadtrip next summer to get some art work done.
