Projects Need help identifying wire wheel

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by Rich Venza, May 4, 2014.

  1. I need to identify the make of this 18" x 3" wire wheel. It has been converted to a spindle mount and came off a Lyndwood dragster originally built in 1960. It is 100% steel including the center hub.

What does the center and other side of the hub look like?

  3. I don't have the wheel in my possession, and have asked the fellow who has it to send me a photo of the other side. I'll post it as soon as I get it.

A Harley hub would have 5 lug holes, so that maye rule them out. Good to see a post from you Rich, my old Lyndwood is running again, parting with it was the right thing to do. Bob

  5. I should have a photo of the other side of the wheel tomorrow.

Bob..I'm looking forward to seeing it at Hershey this fall. Frank Morawski will be there with the Danny Ongais Dragmaster, so having them next to each other will be a trip.

  6. It looks like a early Hallcraft wire wheel with provisions for a disc brake. HRP
