Hot Rods steering box

    What are you guys using for a steering box,other than Vega / corvair in your T-bucket.

    Use a 32, but put needle brgs. in place of the bushings, that will make it like power steering.--TV
     
  4. Ford box works well if you have a 4 link.

    I used a 37 ford box in my 27 rpu.It wasn't as nice as the mustang box I removed, but the rag joint and tilt steering had to go.

    Mine had a VW bus box.

    I'm using the stock gear box in my 1930 dodge just rebuilt. I used a 1968 Chevrolet manual box in my old model t but it was hidden in the cowl

  9. NOS 1956 Vauxhall Velox box in our old bucket, probably a bit hard to get in the U.S though I'd imagine..

    Lakesmod, Just found your PM this morning, thanks for the reply. Now to the subject at hand, I used a '56 VW bus steering box on my modified. It was easy to mount and is not
    out of scale with the rest of the car. The pitman arm does stick up instead of down, but
    it works for me.
