I'm going to be running a hydraulic clutch setup from a '57 Ford truck in my '29 roadster and I'm thinking about buying a pedal assembly from the same truck. Will the truck pedals be to large for the Roadster and will it fit with the stock gas tank? I'm thinking this would make it very easy to mount the clutch and brake master cylinder. The pictures below are an old set of Ansen pedals and a set of '57 Ford truck pedals.
It will take alot of fab work. Look into the Ansen type pedal assemblies, They use the early 60s chevy truck clutch/brake master cyclinder
I don't have truck pedals to try, but i can't see them fitting in there with the stock tank. Seems like the pedals would be mounted way too low. i have a stock 29 roadster in the shop, I'll take a look today.
Quick look shows that there is only room for a 12" long pedal, measured from pin center, to center of the stock pedal pad center. That 12" would be leaving some space at the top, for a normal hinge pin setup. 12" seems too short for the pedal travel to feel right, especially a clutch pedal? The other problem would be that the master cyls would be sitting lower on the firewall, and might hit the motor, depending on what type of motor.
