SBC question need help

I have a 69-79 block and a friend gave me a LS1 cam I'm wondering if I can put the cam in my block or not and if so is there anything I need to change to do so?

Yea I agree, I'm pretty sure the block changed somewhere along the line if not why when ordering a cam does it say 262-400,55-98 I'm assuming after 98 it changed enough to effect cam clearances or someting similar to that.
