Truck is a 57 chev 1/2t 235/3spd friend blew the motor... he found another. process of pulling the blown one out. Everything is disconnected and she wont release from the trans. The tail of the shaft is stuck... Do you need to remove the clutch plate from the flywheel to separate the two?
did you unbolt the trans from the bellhousing? if so did you get the two lower bolts that go in from the bellhousing side? the trans should pull right out of the bellhousing easily when the bolts are all out. It's possible the input shaft is stuck in the pilot bushing...not very likely though.
Yup, all bolts are out... we got the block pulled away about 4-5 inches but the shaft seems to be stuck in the clutch assy.... we are callen it a night and now gonna brainstorm with a cold one... any ideas are appreciated.
Ha! no worries there! we got her out. The shaft was hanging up on the clutch arm inside. hoping to have the good motor in by tonight...
