Just bought this Monterey a few weeks ago and have started the process of making it "mine". The body of the car looks fairly decent (20 feet away)- however up close the paint is not good at all. So off she went to the paint shop this morning. Next, is the interior of the car- it is horrible- someone actually put Gucci fabric in it. So next is a fresh look on the inside. My mechanic went thru the engine replacing a few things and she runs and drives great. I will post a few pics when she is out of paint. But overall I love the look of this car. Cool lines and the back window is awesome!! BTW- great board, been checking it out for the last few weeks and really am impressed with it.
Ditto in Houston. That interior is donkalishious. Funny, if the REAL Gucci say interior, he'd bitch slap whomever was driving. Seriously Good luck with the save.
Repair wavy body, repaint white pearl. Full interior going back to black with white inserts. Clean up engine bay and carpet trunk. So far I have $5600 in the car before changes- and have budgeted an additional 5-6 k for the restore. A/C works but is leaking so fix the leak and add an additional air pump for air ride.
This car looks a lot better in your pics then when I saw it for sale . What's your plans for it Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
It'll be nice to see this car brought back from the land of dubs and subs. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Well... I'm actually going to keep the wheels. --for now.. But when I do replace em' it will be with another set of 20's. What can I say.. I like the hot rod look. My goal is to have it done by the Charlotte motor speedway car show..
Update on the car. After a fresh coat of paint- I decided to put on a new set of detroit steel wheels and painted them the same color. Went ahead and tossed on the baby moons and now have started the process of changing the interior out. I will post pics once complete with that. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Nice color and I like how it looks with the dark top. Much better without the two-tone thing, looks a lot cleaner. I kinda wish the wheels had some sort of thin trim rings. Looking much better!
20's are not the hot rod look. it would look better with 15 inch wheels. It's a 63 Mercury, not a Caprice.
? 20" wheels? Drop it get some 15's....Astros or chrome reverse and skinny whites. Would have really set that car off
congrats on turning the car around from how you got it. i had seen it on ebay back when it was for sale.
