AMAZING! Congratulations, man... you hit the F100 jackpot! And also, THANK YOU for sharing this story with us.

George is clearly a rare individual, and getting rarer every day. What excellent taste and foresight he has! You, the truck, and he are all so very lucky to have found one another.

Now then, young man... keep it coming!

    Kvipt,
That is awesome! Do you have any details about it's abduction and time as a prisoner?

That's excellent news, Olav! I hope it's in relatively good condition so that you can continue your pickup saga without interruption. I'll bet you're one happy guy today!

    Olav,

You are obviously doing something right! Congratulations on getting your wagon back. Like others have said I too would be interested in hearing any details you might have regarding the theft and recovery of your wagon and the scumbags who stole it.

  19. Thank you all guys, well I'm not always that lucky..

Well! Good news is that i have the car! Bad news is that a young girl snagged in front of me on the highway and slammed the brakes for a slow going vehicle. I turn left and side swapped my right front fender and door.. I can't give any details about who stole it, because it is still under investigation.

It doesn't matter who stole it, it matters that you got it back. In the form of possible irony, the repairs to the wagon might be good "practice" before you get to that part of your truck restoration. Just sayin, or maybe trying to help make lemonade from the "lemon"...?

Great thread. I really like the older custom f-100's, and that is the real deal.

This gets better and better! Thanks for keeping us updated.

  24. Glad to hear you got the wagon back in running shape and hopefully intact. Too many times we hear about stolen cars recovered that aren't running, parted out, crashed, or otherwise completely f'ed up. The car gods are smiling.

  25. Now I got a chance to restyle it slightly, French the headlights as an example :)

Simply incredible! Congrats for everything. Great thread, sent shivers down my spine when I saw that eye.

That tailgate would look really cool hung up at a historically significant olde tyme kustom shop.....;)

  28. dude! cant believe you got the wagon back. that just tops it all off. the kustom gods are smiling upon you. keep up the good work and dont worry about the damage these old cars are meant to take a lil' beating every now and again.

  29. The chassis is more or less done, just waiting for some back orders from Bob Drake. So now I have begun to paint all the parts for it!

    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1400067461.994424.jpg
My buddy in Bell Junior Conway helped me match the color from the tailgate. Base urethane with clear will cover the engine compartment, however Bill Hines mixed the paint for the exterior, in Lacquer. So when the car starts to get patina again, it will look like 50's patina.

    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1400067751.709596.jpg

Also found an extra tailgate at the long beach swap meet!

    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1400067786.343216.jpg

Found this too, but I could not afford it :/

    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1400067835.099487.jpg

Turned out that chrome polished good out!

    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1400067890.039337.jpg
Applied epoxy and high build primer on all the parts in the engine compartment tonight.

It's so cool to restore this truck in the old barris shop, spraying paint mixed by Junior Conway, shooting it where Von Dutch, Dean Jeffries, Larry Watson, Ed Roth among others once nestled.
