Well. I'm at it again! This time I found this '28 ford which the guy has owned since he was 15. it raced through the 50's n 60's with a flatheaed at first ( long gone RIP) and then a 392 hemi. First with 4 97's them with a cragar 471 and dual quads. The man chopped it and sectioned it years ago. It presently has a fresh ( 30-40 years ago) rebuilt 57 392, Lasalle trans and a 49 pontiac rear. He parked it and never worked on it again.
It has old Pie crust whitewall slicks! A perfect original '32 grill n shell. interior needs to be done, roof was filled with a roof from something long ago. I was speaking with the man and he told me tales of racing and the combinations. I saw an old picture of him racing it with the 4 carb set up.
Then I asked what happened to all the hi perf stuff? He said it was all upstairs. We went up into the attic and there is all was! Complete blower set up, polished 4 acrb intake ( he can't find the carbs) linkages, hemi magneto, all sorts of cool vintage bits! Then I look over nad there is astack of old M/T boxes! inside brand new M/T Radir wheels! never mounted! He then showed me all the reciepts for everything! Honest Charlie reciepts from the 50's n 60's ! The wheels were bought in 1961 when he parked the car.
It is coming to it's new home monday morning. I'll have pics of the parts as I found them and more. Here is afew pics to prevent the good folks here from crying BS
    Cheers!

Two more sleepless nights! Monday morning I hook up the trailer, got the pile-o-cash.

I might have to bring it around a little as is. The steering wheel and pedals are set so you sit in the back seat. It has a 55-ish corvette steering column and wheel.
47 ford drop axle.... I'm thinking I'll have to go through the motor since it's been sitting so long and if i have to do that...well i suppose the blower will have to go back on.... it would be wrong to let that sit on a shelf....

lots of beer will help me sleep!

    Cheers!

PS: 2 days until more pics!

  29. It's always gives me that warm fuzzy feeling, when a piece of hot rod history ends up with a HAMBer, because it won't end up losing it's heritage.
