1956 NOMAD --Flip it or Part it Out???

To bad you werent on the west coast, My dad has a sedan delivery that would make a good doner car to make a nomad

 

this being an older thread,what ever became of the nomad?

As far as I know the Nomad is still in the garage, I should drive buy and double check. Kind of neat seeing and old thread get taken back to the top again.

 

check it out, see if you can still get it for the 08 price?

 

Never got a price, it's a "I'm going to fix it up some day" car.

I sold a '56 Nomad completely stock through Barrett-Jackson for $35,000. two years ago. There is still a big demand for the '55-57 Nomads out there. Mine was bought by a 70 year old car enthusiast. It was a nice car.

I'd say yes, it was in a two car garage, "My son is going to fix it up some day" deal. Saw it one day when the door was up. If I knew what the bottom line is on value, I'd make an offer, just looking to flip it and fund my stuff. Bob

The trouble is on a situation like this is that Nomad is GOLD to the son and no one is gonna get it cheap. I'd say try to get a good look at the wagon and talk to as many Nomad people as you can. Find out the value as is. If it comes up for sale at a fair price then flip it.
Some of us have a mental disorder. I'd rather have the Nomad than a 32 Ford.

 

Nomads' popularity was sealed when Tim 'Tool Time' Taylor let his wife's Nomad get crushed by that falling pole...
Angry letters, phone calls, seemed like the whole country got bent up over the 'Nomad' they wasted.
When the dust settled, they had to issue a disclaimer that the 'Nomad' wasn't anything but a wagon 'dressed up' to look Nomadish.

I mean, the bowtie neurotics went...clinical term, 'Apeshit'!

I was probably about 12 years old when the show aired and, I remember seeing door posts plain as day when the roof got smashed.... Clearly wasn't a Nomad. Tim Allen would never let the TV show do that to a Nomad.

I remember camping in St Augustine, Fl and watching the last episode. I loved that show. My wife often said there was a bit of "Tool man" in me. I always thought it was a compliment on my large tool!

Another show similar with an old Chevy wagon was "Titus."

 

I always watched the show because, it was one of the only TV shows with cool cars on TV at the time. I liked that 33 roadster that Tim had on the show also. It was a show that guys like us could relate to.

 

when i saw that, yesterday, i saved it to my desktop. i love that color scheme and think it'd look good on my wagon.
