Came across this old Flat head V8 still in a partial chassis while spring skiing. It was used to run mining equipment in the mountains of Alaska. Have not been able to find anything like it. Delco distributor mounted on the front of the engine. Exhaust manifolds between the heads discharging into a common pipe to the rear, pipes may be home wrought as the brazing is still visible. Intake manifolds appear to be built into the heads. Chrome or stainless steering column is bent back to face out the front. Has a series of small valve cups on the top of the head, could have been for oiling? Anyone help identify this odd eight?
Cadillac was my original guess but lacked the head intake castings. Thanks for the guesses, I finally found the culprit, we all missed. It is a mid 20's Lincoln L model. How if found its way to a mining camp in Alaska running a cable winch would make a story worth listening to. Here is a link to one in a little better shape: http://www.secondchancegarage.com/classic-car-photogallery1/1925-lincoln-model-l-eng1.cfm
Its an early lincoln, 1919 to early 30's probably. Not good for much than a restoration as parts are non-existant.
