History Fresno HAMBers: Identify This Local Relic?

    Recently seen at the Fresno Auction Company, this doo-dad from the early 60's perhaps. I recall seeing it many years ago here, but cannot recall where. I believe it was on a sign at a tire shop or gas station.

    Looks like a V8 spoked wheel cover, top and bottom!

    He said spoked wheel COVER. That thing looks like it's 4 feet in Diameter I doubt that's what they are.

    BTW, It's about 3 feet diameter. The base is about 12"x18"

    No, I'm 100% sure I saw this on a gas station or tire shop in Fresno or the Fresno area.

    But it was 30 years or more ago, hence the call for my fellow old geezers to scour their memories for the clue to this metalwork riddle.
