Welcome to the HAMB just don't mention it if you put a D***** in there. Kind of like saying R**R** and then your thread will be gone and we'll miss your great build.

You're right, those photos show there's no room under that wheel.

I will admit I've seen worse but unfortunately all the rusted parts are where fisher rolled the bottom bead along the cab. I still haven't figured out what I'm going to do

Started doing a little mock up today so I can figure out motor placement. Using the 38 1.5 ton chassis is not so bad after all. Aside from running board brackets. After doing the mock up today I realize that the original crossmember that held the radiator grill support has to be removed or notched to allow clearance for the 36 lower valance/splash apron. But I still continued mocking up and I'll deal with that part later.

Sorry for the messy shop. It was an old horse barn that I've converted into a shop. I just recently did spring cleaning in the house and moved outta storage so it's a mess! Not to mention it has about 3 truckloads of stuff needing to go to donation. I finally convinced my fiancé she has to much crap.

Nice old truck. I looked for a cab like that, had all the rest but gave up and sold the truck. Had a 34-5 high top cab on it with a home made back.

  11. I'll be the asshole that points out your welds look like shit. I hope you redo them making sure you have adequate penetration and build. Other than that cool project!

Love the truck project! I can get some measurements for your core support. Give me a day or two. Craig

yes yes they do. but they provided the penetration i needed. when i welded the crossmember in at the time i was using flux cored wire at which i cannot lay down for the life of me. ya'll can say what you want about them but they will hold and this is no trailer queen.. it will be a daily driver that i will drive the piss out of it...
