Gotta a 1949 chevy 2 door fleetline I just bought for 200 bucks no front clip and had my last post deleted don't know why but what do y'all think Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
nice looking trailer , kind of odd looking . now for the search of parts . hope you have the upper control arms .
If you redo the stock front end, find a '53-'54 donor, better brakes and the uprights sit the front end lower.
Idk what I'm goin to do with it he was gonna scrap it so I snagged it Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
That was the plan I have a 49 chevy 3100 I'm building now so don't have time for another but I didn't wanna see it go to the scrap yard Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
May as well swap for the '51-'54 rear end to for that matter if you stay with the torque tube type of drivetrain
I have an extra front clip...i am going to swap fenders then looking to sell. Drivers fender a bit lumpy, pass fender pretty nice, neither are rotted out. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I think I'm going to sell it to someone looking for a project guy was gonna scrap it so I bought it off him Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Now that adds a new dimension on "can be towed easily". It looks like a presentable start on a custom if someone was looking for one to start with.
Although there are supposed to be rocker panels below those doors! Is there any floorpan in that car? It looks an awful lot like a parts donor (roof, doors, trunk lid) to me.
Ya there is a floor board got a hole on driver side but can be patched I was either just gonna sell it like it is or part it for ppl Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Just how in the hell do you build cars? Not to mention that the Fleetline to convert another car would require the entire rear body swapped, not just the roof and deck lid, but that's another story. The aftermarket for these is pretty good, and they're not exactly complicated design either, it's not that difficult to build one that has a fair amount of rot in it. That car isn't a whole lot worse than mine was and rolling with a V8 set in it I got more than 10 times what he paid for this one.
I would make sure all the floors, rockers etc. were solid or repair them. I would look for a 4/D driver to swap the fleetline body onto resulting in a body style worth a lot more. CRUISER
Would you have a passenger front door granish molding that you would sell me? PM me @ [email protected] Thanks
Someone will post a photo of a finished car, Fleetline rear attached to a '54 Chevy Twodoor. There was an orange one on the West Coast that looked perfect to me. Something I've always wanted to build. Bob
