  9. Olav -

I opened this thread last week (when you started it) ... and knew right away that it was going to be another "Epic HAMB thread"!

It's a bummer about your wagon :( ... but if it hadn't gotten stolen, the "Contaoi '55 Ford F-100" (by Richardson, Barris, Jeffries, & vonDutch) would never have found you! :D

I'll be following your progress on the "Contaoi ~ Kvipt '55 F-100" ... and look forward to seeing more photos from George's archive! ... Please thank Mr. Contaoi for allowing you (& Sondre) to share them with us!

  24. I opened it then and thought it was an April fools prank, I thought it was way too cool to be true.

Congrats on the find and good on you for bringing the truck back to the way it should be and involving George in the rebuild. Take the old bloke for a drive in it when it's done and watch him grin from ear to ear.

I wish somebody would steal my car so I could find something cool like this. JK

  26. Wow! Never knew the thread would feature so many nice comments and views! Appreciate it folks!! My good engineer friend Roby Ballard is comming tomorrow or the day after with a fancy little camera. What that camera can do is magical. Listen up folks, I'm gonna drill an hole in the tailgate, about the size of a pen, then the tube camera can slide in there and see if the Von Dutch painting is still there, nice and untouched, or if it is a moisture trap, and it's gone in the rust. Stay tuned!

Anyways, here's today photo! Dean Jeffries' 1947 Mercury!

I've never really seen any good photos of this car before. And I've never seen that crazy face Dean painted on the hood!

For me, these photos are priceless! I just love finding more photos from the days back then I wish I was alive..

Jeffries sure had a colorful mind! That's for sure!

I can't describe how exciting it was to see these photos for the first time! They're taken right outside where I work, every day! And it looks still the same, yet not so pretty and well taken care off.

Have any of you guys seen a photo of this before?

Here's a closeup of the deck lid. Notice the guy is pulling his own guts out, and shoving something into his ear!

And this looks like a little man!
