Ive got a ford 390 that came out of a 65 thunderbird... I am 95% sure that what ive got on there is an FMX transmission. Ive tried searching the numbers I see on there, but cant come up with anything. The pan has 14bolts... which would line up with an FMX.. but I cant find an fmx gasket that is the same shape.
Can somebody chime in on this and let me know if there is possibly a number I am missing or another way to tell for sure..

A 65 bird would have a MX trans with an I.D. tag on the left side of the transmission case with a PCE-BB or PCE-BJ on it. The MX pan is different from the FX and FMX

...Will a lokar fmx shifter work for this transmission? I looked up an MX transmission pan & the picture looks right.. cant find the ID tag, but its still pretty crusty
