You can never go wrong with black. It looks great with no fenders too.

This fuck'n coupe is BADASS! That's a HOTROD! Perfect.

  13. It does look good in black. Keep those updates coming..

  14. Small update on the valve cover situation. I found an old set of stackers and a nice set of Cal covers for the engine. I got everything painted up and polished as best I could and set them in place. I am still trying to track down a nice old cast air cleaner housing to match.
I have been rewiring most of the car the right way and getting the dash and tach situation figured out. Ill post pics asap.

Here is what the engine looks like now.

    More soon

WOW, really looks nice! Just in time for the nicer weather approaching us!! :)

  19. Thanks for all the kind words guys!

The paint is actually not what you would expect. It's PPG DelFleet single stage 99 black. It's truck and equipment paint. I went this rout for repair ability as well as a somewhat vintage look. I would recommend this stuff to anyone.

The tires are 5.50 fronts and 7.50 rears on 16 inch Ford wheels.

I will be out for a rip on Saturday and ill snap some more pics as we go.

To paraphrase a popular commentator: "The way it ought to be". Chop, stance, tire fitment, wheels and caps, paint, all outstanding individually and stunning as combined.

What are you trying to do - singlehandedly make fenders popular again?

  29. Thanks for all of the nice words. I have a few updates. I ended up having to change the steering in the car. The F-1 conversion was cool and a neat project but it just couldn't keep up with what the rest of the car wants to do under its tremendous power. I experimented with different lengths of steering arms ect. and never could quite get it dialed. Reluctantly, I ended up using a Unisteer single sided rack. I used one on my T coupe and it worked out great in this car too. Now the car is easier to keep on the pavement! haha.

I also had developed one hell of an oil leak in the front of the trans. Turned out that the the seal on the inside of the bearing retainer went to hell so out with the trans. While it was out I had some time to finish up some shifter linkage issues as well. You can literally beat the piss out of the trans now and I am super impressed with how well it shifts. The ol T-10 has some serious work to do behind that engine.

I have quite a few pictures of the current status on the engine that I will post. This winter will be spent on mostly customer stuff but I sure hope to get the interior finished up and enjoy the car for a while. Its been a pretty crazy summer to say the least.

Here are a couple pics from the great flood of 14. Our trip to Bonneville yielded some cool pictures, but thats about it. PICT0188.JPG PICT0193.JPG PICT0195.JPG
