Technical Mystery Breaks?

Anyone know what kind of breaks they are?

They list them as disc breaks, looks like they were at a swap meet.

Never seen anything like them.

I was looking for a SBC and answered an ad for a Model A chassis with one . It had a set of those ugly brakes on it. I sure was not going to give $100 for the whole thing with those goofy things on it!

 

I've heard those brakes are not all that swift, they break down a lot.

Newbies check this out I bought a 1927 ford roadster with a 327-4 speed & Kinmonts on it in 1972 for $1000 & Traded it for an all steel 32-3 Window coupe minus eng & trans but with a Corvair front & Vette rear and as they say THE REST IS HISTORY

 

It's not a mystery break without a Scooby Snack.
