So got the sbc about where I want it we will see if it tears the transmission out of it . Been a long winter excited to hit the streets with her . I think I'll wait till fall to start the body work and collect some parts this summer . Needs some more love on the drive train but got a good start

Looks nice! Tell us about the supercharger set-up you're running...

It's a vortech blow through system . Comes as a kit bolts right on a small block. Had to make a new motor mount and cut the inner fender and then shave a little off the water pump . Running that quickfuel 750 ban carb that's built for blow through . Demon makes a little bit if a cheeper blow carb but I read a lot of bad stuff. After that i ran all new stainless fuel line and put in a jegs electric fuel pump . Ran good for a seccond till I realized the tank was full of sludge so I had to clean the tank out . I'm gonna order a tank sealing kit so I won't have that worry ever again . That blower is so posed to be putting out around 5 psi out of the box I still have to hook up a boost gauge and see . Also still some carb tweaking to do

  7. That Vortech blower should help the performance a lot, but may be detrimental tot he trans reliability! Car looks good. What are the rest of the drivetrain details?

Th350 trans with what looks like a stock pontiac open rear end . Stock lowered suspension . I'm gonna overhaul the rear end next and slap a shift kit in the trans and see how long it holds up . I figure worst case you can brand new tci trannys for like 1200 from jegs or get one of those monster in a box rebuild kits . Right now it just spins in first gear ha ha

I think suspension wise I'm gonna try to find a later 50s crossmember and my buddy has drop spindles brakes and everything for a 55 so that should freshen up the front and leave me with some options parts wise being they want like 600 for a stock rebuild kit . Then 4 link the rear with coil overs and eventually bag all 4 corners

I like these cars. My first car was to be a '53 Pontiac. We paid $50 for it running, and I got more than $50 in old tools from the trunk. There was a brass telescope that was from the 1800's and worth several hundred now. I still have it and the tools.

Unfortunately we got shipped out in a hurry and I had to sell it unfinished, after just having patched the rusty floorboards with pop rivets and the bottom of a Radio flyer.

The bare ignition wire actually rubbed on the block & caught fire right in the used car lot. LOL

My dad talked him down to $35 after that :D

I got to steer it as we towed it home.
