History Vintage pictures of REAL shop trucks.

Charlie Hall and son in Tucson built his "shop truck" in the fifties and used it until 2011 when it became my "shop truck"
There are no photos of it with experimental dual headlights in one fender or when each panel was painted a different color of the then new candy color to advertise his shop.

Here's my Dad's hop truck that served him faithfully from highshool through his Hot-Rodding days of the '60s, Volkswagens and Jeeps of the 70's, and European Sportscars of the 80's. He sold it in '87 after 25 years of ownership, and I found it and bought it back shortly after he passed.

I have boxes of slides from the '60s with this truck in it, just haven't transfered them to modern media yet.

...funny thing is, I just started (again) on this truck last night. Then, poof, shop trucks abound on here.

Dude that thing is BadAss. I'm not a big fan of flatbeds. But it looks "right" on that thing. I hope you bring it back to it's former glory.

 

Thanks Hitch. The plan is to bring it back to its late-60's version; Purpley-Pearl over White-Base paint, chrome Steelies, piner-whites, and tuck-n-roll interior.

It's a pretty cool, rare truck, one of 60-or-so original V8-Automatic Scotsman's. Dad bought it in high school as a wreck and stick-welded up the bed then. Now the bed is back off to get straitened (from another wreck), but I'm trying to keep as many of dad's old welds there...

Real Trucks have a big chrome front bumpers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I enjoy looking at all the great truck photo's because it reminds me of what real trucks used to look like.

Today much of the stuff on them is plastic junk!!!!

Not sure this is exactly what you're looking for but this is/was a real working truck. Sold new to a local salvage yard in '36. I drove it home about 45 miles in '91. Just used it to move a bunch of heavy stuff two weeks ago.
