47 ford coe (car hauler project)

Good grief, I didn't think it could get any better and it did! It's becoming the Sultans car hauling yacht.

 

Hi grate truck did you use auto clear or wood clear thanks bryan.

I don't think anyone has used 'stunning' yet, so I will. Truly a stunning build. Not sure my wife would approve of me spending $$ on airfare to come see it in person, but I'd like to.

He will haul home his trophies in the passenger seat. On the back, cotton balls and felt...ha!

 

all wood trim in place ready for sanding and clear coat
also added a few more tie downs

I really like the finger joint detail. I didn't realize you had to clear the edging after it was installed on the bed. How do you reach behind the cab?

It looks great.

 

have to fill the screw holes and sand it down so it looks like one piece
will apply the clear with a brush there is abouth 2'' behind the cab.

got the head, park and turn signal lights hooked up
the parklight and turn signal lights are led



also made a patern for the sides to be painted




also installed a proper horn


and made a switch panel under the dash
for, park brake, compressor power , windup key power, horn selector switch and heather fan switch, and a Obd 2 port

 

I like the graphics you've picked. Now, where have I seen that layout before? I can't tell you how much I like this build, and am sorta sorry to see you wrapping it up (completely selfish of me), it's been fun watching it come together, the truck is a knockout!

I have an observation about your D-rings. It looks like the D-rings are bolted to the outer board with the outer board bolted to the bedframe. The number of bolts that secure the outer board is a lot less than the number of bolts that are used to secure the D-rings. Or are the D-rings bolted to the frame below? I am a bit worried about the strength your construction.

I think he has it covered with the frame member at the outside edge of the bed. Front and rear tie-downs are on the longitudinal frame rails.

This is one builder who has a very good grasp of the job at hand!

 

ok its been awhile but had not much to show lately.
did a lot of small things and detail work, and fixed the steeringbox leak.

removed the masking tape of the first attempt, I didnt had the right tape
and could'nt get it straight enough.
the second try with the right fine line tape worked way better.

also applied sound absorbing material on the inside of the side panels.

 

Ohhhhh.....
