neat looking 57 ....looks to be a 10 year project

 

That "Super Chevrolet Service" sign was probably worth more than the car they made a firewall out of it for.

This was posted to a "vintage" pic forum on Crackbook about Denver and the West. No idea how old the pic is. Maybe some of you are driving around with parts from these today.

 

been passsing this 1956 "Big Job" south of Dallas on I-35....It's near West,TX....and it finally had a "for sale" sign on it....

 

pretty nice old fire truck...just a town over from Dallas....

The bidding ended a while ago but the videos and a list of cars is still up.

 

A Rollins, a Maxwell, and an aluminum body Lincoln! Just to name a few.

 

I remember seeing Marty Robbins' race car on this thread somewhere and recently saw it on a TV show being restored. I thought that was pretty neat.

 

If I am not mistaken that is in Enid OK. and Vanderbrink auctions is selling the inventory in June.

My step grandfather worked for Cotton Owens for quite a while, up until he closed his yard. I got to steer Marty Robbin's last car through the mall when they were putting it on display in the Westgate Mall in Spartanburg, SC. It went from there to a museum, then who knows?

 

NashT and Partsdawg.....does look like the old man's stufff from Enid....man that family's (inheritor's) still trying to hit it.....they've tried it before...guess we'll see if Vander Brinks does it....

 

At least they didn't just crush it out, like so many families do. Although many of those cars will probably have that fate after the auction anyway!

Here's one I pulled out of the underbrush in Kentucky where it was sitting and rotting and dragged all the way to California. Years before someone had covered the roof with an aluminum sheet using tap screws. The wood, etc. underneath was perfect.

 

Great looking car. Do you know what year it is?

 

I think its a 28, I believe 29 was first year for safety glass in the Ford windshield...

 

Just sitting and rotting...
