History Barn find Soap Box derby

    I finally got around to digging out my Uncle's 1947/48 SBD... Has not seen daylight since 1975 and is original paint... Incredible shape for it's age in a basement.

    I have pics of it being hand painted in the 40's too. Basically a build log of pics if u guys care.

    For 1947, that thing was way ahead of its time... Pretty nice craftsmanship!

    Keep it as is, just clean it up. If you “restore” it, it will just be another soap box car.

    Good stuff! Great to hear it is still in the family. The closest I got to having one was the boy scout pinewood derby car! LOL!

    Build a shadow box with lexan sides... Put it in the man cave. No way is it for sale.
