Finaly sold my chopped 52 Chevy to get what I really want! This ur of a pic taken last week on her way home to me from East LA
Old 6 volt system a bad fuel pump, distributer and water pump! Orderd all new and am going to convert to 12 volt! On second pic I changed out the water pump and new thermostat with new gaskets!
My first car back in 1960 was a Fleetline just like that. I wasn't that crazy about the fastback style and always wanted a coupe. However, now I like the fastback and think they can be pretty cool. Will be watching to see your progress.
Nice, there's a couple of other "new" threads about Fleetline builds, check them out. Also, here's a cool site with lots of info on 47 and 48 Chevys. http://www.1948chevy.com/
Here are the plans for the car first thing is first convert car to 12 volt wich I have allready started. New Fenton headers installed going for straight pipes next week! Pretty much gonna lower it a lil bit and cruise her for the summer!

Nice start. A lotta guys with Fleetlines here (Including myself). Keep it a little low, split the exhaust and you should be set to cruise.
I too have a 52, but that sir is a fare trade off. Good luck with it. Love the lines. Hard not to make a nice cruiser out of it.
Finally got my fender skirts gonna paint them and my visor to match! Lowering car this weekend as we'll! Can't wait to get her road worthy!
Just picked up a powerglide diff yesterday 3:55s so now I can jump on the freeway and keep up with trafic!!
I've got a coupe but lust after a Fleetline...I'm sorry I never bought that 42 that cycled around for sale, was too deep into the couple then.
What year(s) is that rear end out of and can you swap it out for the an original? I have a '48 Fleetline too and would like to make it a little more freeway driveable too.
Yes it's a 52 Chevy powerglide automatic diff yes you can stab it right in but the diff is 5 lug I want to keep my 6 lug so I'm going to just swap the guts out into mine!
She is looking good keep at it cant wait to hear those pipes. Your going to wake up the block again. How is the dist going have you got her started yet?
God I kno I can't wait to hear the pipes on this thing! Yea stabbed the distributer now just gotta dial in the timing on her!
Thanks EnfadosoS. I'll put that on my list of things to pick up when/if I ever decide to swap out the rear end.
