try to think of small things to do while the car sits. any interior parts you can strip down or exterior trim to get outta the way for the build ? anything small thatll make it easier when you get into the build full swing. itll also keep you excited about what youre doing and occupied for the time being

Welcome to the Hamb from Chicago. When you're looking for all those '49 Ford parts you'll needs, check out the link below. It's for Mercury reproduction parts, but most of the companies that supply '49-'51 Merc stuff, also supply '49-'51 Ford parts. Dennis Carpenter, Mac's, C&G, Bob Drake, just to name a few... I'm by no means a Shoebox expert, but if you have trouble finding something, I might be able to point you in the right direction.

Car had major title issues and needless to say it is no longer in my possession...the good news is however is that I may be acquiring a 1959 Ford F100 that doesn't need too much work...which is awesome...I just moved to Nashville so I am currently unemployed at the moment but the minute I get a job that sucker is mine...

  12. hope that it works out ...

thats a big move from the beach to the heartland ....

getting a customized to environment ...??

Been busy as hell...new job as an ophthalmologic technician so that's been taking up all of my time...plus holidays etc. Sitting in the truck now waiting to trailer my cab into the shop...hooray she's finally going to be all in one place. Once the weather warms up I'll be tearing her down, figuring out what I'm missing...which sadly is a lot but at least I'll be able to spend my weekends at the shop...my goal is to have her ready for Billetproof 2015 in Florida... :)

Welcome from South Carolina. If you can't work on the car now you can always gather parts and figure out build details like paint color, interior color, if you are going to chop the top how much are you going to go. PhotoShop is good to help you visualize things.

Hey sometimes our projects are put on the backburner for a while and "real life" gets in the way and takes top priority.
It's great that you're getting back to work, keep it up.

The Buick looks very solid, and it has a Nail-head, can't beat that, all the best...

Thanks...it's about 98% there and the nailhead has about 48k original miles and runs. She just needs some tweeking. Already have new plugs and wires. Changed out some belts and working on some hoses. I need to check the gas tank and radiator for leaks and have them pressure tested. Brakes are good. Going to pull them here shortly and have the drums turned. Other then that she just needs a paint job, new glass, new shoes, interior, and some things need to be rechromed. All in due time. She's got good bones...hardly any rust and the floors just have 3-4 small holes to weld up.
